Born in 1973 in San Antonio,Texas. Douglas grew up between the United States and Venezuela. This cultural dichotomy allowed him to develop a rare appreciation, understanding and adaptability to the world around him. His photography career began at the age of 18, when he enrolled in a photography program at the art institute in Maracaibo,Venezuela. Also studying during this time at the University of Zulia in Social Communication, Professional work began soon after, opening a studio with an established photographer whom he had assisted.The next couple of years allowed him to sharpen his professional skills and establish a wide range of clients, including international oil companies, fashion designers, magazines and political campaigns. He also explored photography in fine art, displaying his work at many art expositions and working as director of photography on several independent films. Following a six month stay in Europe, he moved back to the US in 1996 and established himself in Miami to focus on a career in fashion and advertising photography.
His unique vision and style has landed him covers and editorials in magazines such as Ocean Drive, Chicago Social, City & Shore, Good House Keeping, People en Español and advertising clients like Sara Lee, Cigarette Racing Team, and Lei Marco Fashion. Serving as both photographer and creative director as well as director on film and video shoots, he continued to develop and expand in the field of film making. Today he is working freelance between Europe and the United States.
